welcome!
Hello Everyone!
Thank you for stopping by. I created this blog with the vision in mind that I could share my work, ideas, resources, and findings with other like-minded teachers and people. This blog was created to be used for not only sharing, but also as a means to store my teaching experiences as a way to go back and refresh my memory of all of the fun I have had throughout the year! I like to think of it as an interactive, electronic portfolio. So please, enjoy, try these things out for yourself, and feel free to contact me with any comments, questions, or ideas of your own! Thank you!
a little bit about myself...
My name is Jessica--recently, I have been known as "Miss Jessica" by my pre-k friends :). I have been working with children from ages 2.9-12 years for the past 11 years in a variety of settings: after school teacher, religious education teacher, student classroom teacher, student reading specialist teacher, assistant teacher, and lead teacher. Currently, I have been teaching pre-k (4-5 year olds) for the past five years. What I have found after years of working with children and advancing my degree is that the pre-k and K level absolutely have my heart. I am very passionate about those early years and truly believe in the importance of early literacy, routines, structure, and learning how to be a student and an independent learner--and I know this is where I shine and was meant to be. I have my B.S in Early Childhood Education (Pre-k-2) and M.Ed in Specialist Teacher of Reading (K-12). One dream I have (along with many others!) is to write a children's book one day.
Feel free to contact me at jessicamariescire@gmail.com. Thanks for visiting! :)
