Ok, so this isn't exactly in the Teachers' Room. However, I think it is important to include in this section because it is something we can keep inside and outside our classrooms---personal inspiration! For me, I am inspired by words and art (maybe that's why I love children's picture books so much). When art and words come together to make something beautifully inspirational, I cannot help but smile. My friend and co-teacher gave me this sweet, little book called Think Happy, Be Happy, and I instantly fell in love with it. Each page has a different saying, quote, message on it that is powerful. I copied my favorite ones (that's right, in color!) and posted them where the "teacher stuff" is in the classroom. It is eye level with adults, so I am being constantly reminded of awesome things like "do small things with great love" or "today is our greatest adventure". My classroom is pretty much my second home, and in my home I like things to be positive, full of good energy, uplifting, and happy. Adult inspiration doesn't just have to be for the teachers' room. Let your students know that you have routines, priorities, goals, and passions--children model what we do. Teach them how to find their inspiration by displaying reminders of yours.
