One of the units we did was "Exploring our Five Senses". We had many activities that included all 5 senses (there are soo many projects to do with this topic). As we finished each one, we recorded our findings in list form, graph form, and by sorting. This way, the children saw a visual of our results when we were finished and the parents got a chance to see what we did and talk about that experience with their children. These findings/charts allowed parents to not only have something to talk about to prompt their child to answer the common question, "How was school today?" but also gave the parents a peek into the classroom and the vocabulary we were using. I love recording what the children say, do, vote on, etc. as a way to show the outside world what we are learning as well as showing the children that their voices matter!
